Notes 📓✏️:

The Power of Prayer – Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, [peace that passes all understanding] will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

R.I.P. (Rest in peace)

R.I.P. (Rise in power)

We know the Bible teaches that prayer invites heaven’s influence into earthly circumstances.

Rev. John Wesley – “God does nothing but in answer to prayer.”

Prayer is not getting God to do what we want but rather getting us to become what God wants.

Proverbs 20:12 NIV: “Ears that hear and eyes that see— the Lord has made them both.”

Prayer works EVERY TIME…in me!

Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV): “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

1. R – Rejoice!

Sometimes you worship because you had a victory!

Sometimes you worship because you need a victory!

Before, during, and after a battle, you need to worship and rejoice in God!

2. I – Inquire

Philippians 4:6 (NIV) says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition…”

What is your petition to God today?

Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT): “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

If you pray with persistence, God will honor your bold prayers because your bold prayers show you honor God.

3. P – Praise

It is difficult to encounter challenges and be thankful at the same time.

1 Thessalonians to “Give thanks in all circumstances.”

The way we…RISE IN POWER is by REJOICING, INQUIRING, and PRAISING!

What do you need prayer for today?
