Proverbs 29:18 (KJV): Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
In relationships, we have expectations about:
Respect
Communication
Compromise
Shared Values
Trust
Appreciation
Support
Commitment
Personal Space
Intimacy
Having expectations makes you human, but be careful to not let your expectations have you.
Mark 8:22-26: When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged Him to touch the man and heal him. Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, He laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Then Jesus placed His hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly. Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.”

The right relationships always lead us to Jesus.
Do the people we bring close walk us toward Jesus or pull us away from Him?
Mark 8:23: “Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village.”
Can we trust Who is holding our hand, or do we need Him to first download His whole plan?

If we are going to be honest with anyone about our expectations, let’s begin by first being honest with God about them.
Mark 8:25: Then Jesus placed His hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.
Mark 8:26: Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.”
Be careful about going back to people and places Jesus walked you away from.
