Advent Day 24: The Light Has Come

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” -John 8:12

Christmas is here! Let’s celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ—the Light of the World!

Remember back in the beginning when God spoke, and light and darkness were created? But then, Adam and Eve sinned, and suddenly, God’s light, His presence was separated from man. It was in that moment when the redemption story had to be written. It wasn’t just about day and night anymore; it became a story of life and death. God wanted to be close to us, so He sent a Light to guide us out of our darkness and back to Him.

This is Christmas: “The One who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world!”

God’s only Son was born to forgive our shortcomings and bring us back to Him. Jesus’ light broke through the darkness that kept us separated. He said, “I am the Light of the world; follow Me, and no more stumbling in the dark—you get the light of life!”

Wherever you are right now, whatever you’ve done, the Savior has come—just for you! Let His light shine on all the dark corners of your life and bring back what got lost. The Light is here, and He’s saying you never have to walk in the dark again. Embrace His love and have a Christmas like never before!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for preparing a way for us to be close to You again. Thank You for sending Your Son to be born, and to die, so I could live! Today, as I celebrate Christmas, help me have a deep appreciation of Your love for me and the Light You have brought into my life. I praise You for making it possible for me to never walk in darkness again!
