Advent Day 12: Equipped For Purpose

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as My prophet to the nations. -Jeremiah 1:5

Imagine this, it was the moment when God’s very first promise was about to come true. Sin was about to be defeated forever, but before that, the Savior had to be placed in His mother’s womb. Can you imagine the excitement God felt sending an angel to Mary to share the details? This was a moment thousands of years in the making!

Now, think about Mary. She was young and humble but handpicked by God. When the angel showed up, God’s message was all about love. He reassured her, wiped away any fear, and made sure she knew she was chosen. Before doubts could creep in, God gave Mary the confidence to step into His purpose for her life.

As Christmas is around the corner, put yourself in Mary’s shoes and reflect on this moment. Imagine how incredible, maybe even overwhelming, it was for her to grasp the full extent of her God-given purpose. Here’s the deal: just as God had a divine purpose for Mary, He’s got one for you too. Like He chose Mary and trusted her with big plans, He’s chosen you and entrusted something miraculous to you! Ask God to show you what He created you to do, and trust that He’ll equip you for it.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus. Thank You for choosing a woman like Mary to bring Him into the world. You used her as a vessel for Your greatest miracle. Thank You for also giving me a divine purpose. Help me to be still, to seek You, and to know You more during this season. Use this time to reveal more about Your purpose for me as I focus on the purpose of Christmas.
